Vacation Planning

Overview

The vacation planning feature allows you to manage how employees apply for vacation time and also the authorization process. Our accounting software provides a graphical representation of vacation dates to help visualize the plan by means of a vacation calendar.

Who uses it: HR personnel, managers, and accountants use vacation planning to manage employee leave.

When to use it: Use vacation planning to manage employee leave, track vacation time, and authorize leave applications.

Navigation Path

To access vacation planning, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your accounting software.
  2. Navigate to the main menu.
  3. Click on "Employees".
  4. Click on "Vacation Planning".

Field Descriptions

Leave Application

The following fields are associated with leave applications:

Field Name Purpose Expected Values Defaults
Start Date/End Date The range of days the vacation time is being applied for Date -
Category The classification of the vacation type Annual Leave, Sick Leave, Study Leave, etc. -
Employee The individual applying for vacation time Employee name -
Status The status of the leave application Pending, Authorized, Declined Pending

Leave Approval

The following fields are associated with leave approval:

Examples / Usage Notes

For example, let's say an employee wants to apply for vacation time:

  1. Navigate to the vacation planning page.
  2. Click on "Apply for Vacation".
  3. Enter the start and end dates, category, and notes.
